Evanora - Oz: Great and Powerful Movie

I saw this movie. Didn't really think much of it. The only character I liked was China Girl. I got the 12" China Girl doll from ToysRUs.

I got this Evanora doll from the thrift store. This is the one that's sold at ToysRUs. Made by a company called Jakks Pacific. I heard that the Oz dolls from the Disney Store were better quality.

She is very beautiful. Her red hair is gorgeous. She doesn't look anything like the actor in the movie but she's still beautiful.

Her dress is elegant. She's missing her necklace and some kind if feather thing that was in her hair. I don't care about either of those things.

Her hair had loads of gel in it and was very crunchy. I washed it all out. Now her hair is so soft.

The dress looks a little jacked up from the back.

She doesn't have much articulation. Her elbows bend but that's about it besides the usual. Her head moves up and down and from side to side.

She can still be very dramatic, though.

She looks like a movie star from Old Hollywood.

Without her dress she looks like a superhero. That black garment is painted on. It looks very sexy.

Her legs don't bend at all. No clicky knees like a Barbie doll. If she sits down her legs stick straight out. Not sexy.

I might swap her body with a Liv doll just to give her more movement. Then I'd have to paint that bodysuit on because I really like that look.

I'm glad to add her to my collection. Just wish her knees could bend.

TaeYang Captain Hook Doll

I have never in my life been interested in a Captain Hook doll but when I saw this doll on Amazon for $29.99 plus free shipping I had to have another TaeYang doll.

He is Captain Hook from Disney's animated Peter Pan movie. I haven't seen it since I was a kid and can't remember a thing about it. This doll was released 10/2008.

This is the photo on the back of the box.

They are packed very well.

That hat is huge.

His mustache is a sticker that has to be put on. It looks stupid. I will not be putting it on him. Ever.

His face is a strange color. It isn't the same color as the rest of his body. It's also shiny.

His eyeliner is very nice.

He only had plastic on his arms. It was easy to take off. Just like my Willy Wonka doll, his left leg came off at the knee. I just shoved it back on and prayed.

This is as much as his eyes will close. I have no idea why. It looks like he's high and about to pass out.

I thought I was going to hate this wig and have to rip it off his head the minute I saw it but I like it a lot. I'll keep it.

There are cracks on both thighs. I hope they don't get worse. Le sigh. Might have to glue this.

His feet and hands are a different color than the rest of his body.

His clothes are excellent quality. These are the best made doll clothes I've come across.

I was planning on selling his wig and clothes on eBay. I changed my mind. I really like them.

The bottom of his shoe.

Not fond of those eyebrows. Luckily, the hair covers most of them.

I didn't want to pose him too much. Didn't want to break him.

Here he is in his complete outfit.

This is Moxie Teenz Arizona in Captain Hook's jacket. It's a perfect fit and looks great on her.

Here's The Captain and Switchblade Willy. They're going to become great friends. They're both thugs. ;-)

I need more boy dolls so I'm glad I got these two. I'm going to have a lot of fun with them.

Disney Animator's Collection - Rapunzel

I bought this doll from a thrift store for $1.74.  I almost didn't get her. She was naked and a complete mess. I forgot to take pictures of her before I cleaned her up.

This is a stock photo from the Disney website.

Here's my doll after I cleaned her up and cut her hair. It was completely ratchet. Her head moves up and down and from side to side. Her ears aren't pierced. She doesn't have any jewelry.

I even tried the boil and soak in Downy fabric softener.

I made her a dress. I'm learning how to sew. I did this without a pattern. I was surprised it came out this good.

She is so cute and adorable. I'm so glad I got her so cheap and brought her home.

The sneakers are keychains. I made the tights from a pair of socks. I found the tutorial on the internet. I'll never buy doll socks or tights or leggings again. I really can't afford it anyway.

The shoes are too big but they were only $1 a piece so I really don't care. I wouldn't know where to find shows to fit this doll anyway.

The back of the dress didn't come out so well. Her hair hides the mess so I'm not worried about it. She isn't complaining. ;-)

Rapunzel is wearing a hat I knit and an infants sweater I got from the thrift store. I took the sweater apart, cut it to her size then sewed it back together.

I kept the hood big to accommodate her large head and long hair.

She looks so adorable. Some day I'll make her more clothes. Now that the weather is finally a little warmer and nicer, I don't feel like sewing. I especially don't feel like knitting or crocheting.

I love these dolls. They have sweet, innocent faces and bodies like toddlers. I looked at the whole collection on the Disney website. I want them all. They're around $20 not including shipping.

I probably won't be getting another Disney Animator's Collector doll unless I find one at a very good price. I'm not willing to spend much because I want to make clothes for them.

I really like the large expressive eyes and long hair. I like these dolls better than the 12 inch dolls.

I hope you liked my little Rapunzel. She was a wonderful find.

Found at the Thrift Store

What I found at the thrift store.

I got 4 Liv dolls for $1.69 each. Here are 2 of them. Three of them had wigs. One was broken so I ripped her head off.

I like to get cheap, spare Liv dolls to either use their bodies or heads on other dolls because Liv doll bodies are the best. And they're cheap.

I really dig the blue, fringed outfit on the left. She didn't come with that outfit on. It was on some generic doll that I got rid of. But I had to have that getup.

Two Littlest Pet Shop Blythes. Now I have 7. I wish I had all of them. They're so cute.

Broken Barbie bike I'm going to fix and miscellaneous doll purses. I also got some Barbie shoes that don't fit any of my dolls. I don't own any Barbies.

Disney Animators' Collection Rapunzel. She was naked, filthy and her hair was atrocious. I cleaned her up, untangled the mess of hair. Then I had to cut off about 4 inches. It was a frizzy mess.

She's back to her original Disney cuteness, almost. I'll have to make her some clothes and get her some shoes.

Can you believe Mattel made both of these dolls? The one on the left is the one I got from the thrift store. I think it's a My Scene doll. All I know is it's absolutely hideous. But it only cost $1.99 and my dolls needed another boyfriend. I got rid of the velvet jacket he was wearing. It was gross and tacky.

The one on the right is Ever After High Hunter Huntsman. He's wearing Cody Simpson dolls pants and shoes. I made the sweater.

Hunter is a vast improvement.

Only the clothes, shoes, purse and jewelry came from the thrift store.

$1.99 for the Barbie scooter and the Liv wig.

Tea set for my dolls.

Disney princess doll dress that looks great on my Liv doll. They needed at least one gown.

Barbie Volkswagen. I cleaned it up and painted it black. Now they're very happy they have a car to go shopping.
