Dolls at the Pool, Dolls at the Beach

My dolls are having a great summer. They're having much more fun than I am. 

Here they are having enjoying the pool and patio I made using a tutorial from www.myfroggystuff.blogspot.com. 

I didn't have a decent background to use so I just threw something together. I don't have any drawing skills at all. This was the best I could do. 

There are Barbies, a Liv, Ever After High, My Scene (rebodied), a Moxie Teenz and a One Direction Zayn Malik doll (rebodied). I like to pretend there's water in the pool.

I have no idea what's happening here. I was taking the picture with my iPhone when I dropped it in the water. It was so embarrassing. A neighbor of mine saw me, felt sorry for me and helped me set up this shot. I think my neighbor had fun. She secretly wanted to play with dolls at the beach. I could tell. ;-)

Luckily, my phone still worked while it was wet. I got a new phone sometime later but that phone still worked. Yay for iPhones!

This thing was supposed to be a tent for camping but it came out looking ridiculous so it got dragged to the beach.

Monster High's Jinafire Long

She's the daughter of the Chinese dragon. Which one? Who knows. She's completely awesome anyway. I'm sure she's has some kind of back story that I'm not going to Google. I'm not really interested. I'd rather make up my own story, anyway. 

Here she is out of her box with her accessories. I didn't notice her hair was in the shape of a fan until I got her out of the box. That is awesome and it is perfect.  

She is a nice golden color. Her skin is covered with scales. Her bathing suit is very nice. It has dragons and fans on it. Nice touch. The purse and shoes aren't as nice and detailed like MH accessories usually are but they seem to be water friendly. No complaints there. She's ready for the beach. 

I can't make out what the green plastic thing that's going around her bathing suit is. Probably just a decoration. The towel is useless. It might make a nice scarf. 

Here she is with her tail. Her hair is completely flawless. There's a hole in the back of the bathing suit for her tail. If the tail is removed there's Velcro on the suit to close it. 

Here's a better look at the plastic that's underneath her sunglasses to protect her face. 

She's absolutely gorgeous. I'm so happy I found her for such a good price. She's enjoying the summer. This is my only MH doll with a bathing suit. 

Ever After High's Dexter Charming is taking photos of Jinafire. He only has an old Polaroid, though.

Every time I buy a Monster High doll, I swear it's going to be my last one. Then another awesome doll comes out. If I see it for a great price I have to get it if I like it.  I can't help myself.

J-Doll Piazza Cavalli

I decided to get a J Doll after reading reviews for the dolls at Multicrafteral.blogspot.com and Toyboxphilosopher.com. Both of these reviews are excellent and very thorough. I suggest that if you want to found out more about J-Dolls, definitely, click on the links.

This isn't going to be a thorough review because other bloggers have already done a much better job. 

I got this doll awhile ago. She was named for a street in Piacenza, Italy. I believe she was $35 with $5 shipping (very reasonable) from Pullipstyle.com.The dolls vary in price. 

These dolls are no longer being made which is a shame because I really like the one that I have. I'd like to get more of them someday. 

J-Dolls have the same bodies as Pullip dolls but not the giant heads. Their heads are about the same size as Barbie's. This doll has the Pullip type 4 body, I believe. 

Here she is. Nice doll stand that supports the doll under her arms. Well made clothes and accessories. Gorgeous acrylic eyes.

It's hard to get her jacket on and off so I gave up on it after awhile. Her wig is atrocious. It's stiff and course and the style is very strange. Nothing I did made it any better. It seems to be glued to her head. 

I searched eBay.com for a better wig but they cost almost as much as another doll. I'd rather spend the money on a doll. 

Her clothes are fashionable, stylish and well made. Much better than Barbie clothes. 

She has a wide range of motion like Pullip dolls. This isn't a play doll. She is fragile. I would never hand this doll to a child. It probably wouldn't last a day.

She likes to go on adventures with Fashionista Nikki.

I tried to do something with her hair. It looks better like this. That's a silver pipe cleaner and small clips that I used. 

Piazza Cavalli is a sweet, pretty doll. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of her. I didn't pose her too much because I was afraid I'd damage her. She's so fragile and I do want to have her around for a long time. I've just started to make some clothes for her so I want her to last.

Hope you like my photos. If you like to collect fashion dolls you'll probably like this doll especially if you want to have a doll with a Pullip body but not the giant head.

Crochet and Knit Clothes For Dolls

I haven't been in the mood to write any blog posts for a long time but I have been busy with my dolls. I've made new dioramas and lots of new doll clothes. I've even gotten a few new dolls. I'll put up posts about them at some point.  

My latest obsession is crocheting and knitting doll clothes. If you know how to crochet and/or knit it's lots of fun and much easier and quicker than making clothes for adults or children. I've made plenty of stuff for myself but making clothes for my dolls is fast and economical.

Chelsea and Courtney look so cute in their new dresses. It's a shame Mattel doesn't make any decent clothes for these dolls. 

Lauryce. That sweater was supposed to be for a Barbie or LIV doll but as you can see it came out way too big. I knitted it. 

Ashlynn and Gru are in love. Stuart the Minion approves. 

This dress and matching bag were also knitted. The dress was originally for a Bratz doll but fits Ever After High dolls as well. The pattern can be found here: http://www.stickatillbarbie.se/. Lots of knit patterns for dolls can be found on this website. 

Liv dolls. The blue sweater is knitted from a pattern for mini Christmas ornament sweaters that I found on the net. The other sweater can be found at the link above. I didn't use a pattern for the hat. 

This dress came out a little too big for Sasha so I'm going to put it on another doll. 

This sweater is supposed to be for a Bratz boy doll but I like it better on Nikki. 

I haven't made much for the Monster High dolls. They can wear most of the hats I made. 

The sweaters on Barbie and Raquelle I made by adjusting the Christmas ornament sweater pattern. The short sweater on the My Scene doll in the back

Tristan and Arizona are wearing a dress and matching top from a pattern I found on 

http://www.ravelry.com/. They were originally for Barbies but they came out too big so now the Moxie Teenz can wear them. 

This is J-Doll Piazza Cavalli. She's wearing a pair of shorts I crocheted. I didn't use a pattern because I couldn't find one on the internet. 

Tinkerbell and Periwinkle are my favorite new dolls. I didn't have patterns to work from for these dresses. 

China Girl desperately needed a new dress. I hate the dress she came with. It's plain and ugly and the material is terrible. I look forward to making more clothes for her.
